Yesterday in my Enews I wrote this:
"I’m at a complete loss for words today. After returning from vacation, where I spent the weekend celebrating my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, I got the news that a girl that went on the Club 56 retreat was hit by a stray bullet last night. She is in critical condition with the decision being made this afternoon whether or not to take her off of life support. I cannot express my grief and pain for this family. This is one of those moments where I turn to the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans, “But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” There are times that you don’t have the words to express, but the Holy Spirit will jump in and express our feelings better than we ever could. Please, take a few moments to pray for the DeMoss family, and as a church we will reach out to our brothers and sisters who are hurting and walk beside them. That is what the church does and who we are called to be as the people of God!"
Today, I learned that Blair has died. Her organs are being donated. In life she was always giving and loving. If there is a chance to bring life to others Blair would never have hesitated. Here is a link to a beautifully written post from Jim Preisig that tells it all.
Please continue your prayers for the DeMoss family, especially if you don't have the words to express your heartache.
